Saving a File

When saving a file it can either be saved with the same filename or a different one. The "Save" function saves the latest version of the design you are working on. It replaces any previous versions. When you are designing from Master Patterns, the design should first be saved using the "Save As" function. This allows the Master Pattern to be used for other designs.

Files can be save either to a hard drive or the Studio Library. It is also possible to save a portion of a file as a different file using the Save a Selection option.

Save to Hard Drive

The Save function replaces the original file with whatever changes have been made. If the Save As function is selected for the Hard Drive and the file name is not changed, the original file will be replaced.

Save to Library

Saving to the Studio Library is a special location on the web that can be accessed from any computer that has the Studio software installed. It requires a user password to access it so only people with the password can open the Library folder. This is also referred to as Cloud storage.

The Save function replaces the original file with whatever changes have been made. If the Save As function is selected for the Library and the file name is not changed, a duplicate file will be created without changing the original file.

Save a Selection

This function allows a portion of a file to be saved as a new file. This is very convenient when working with patterns. For example the PGM Master Patterns include front and back patterns. During the design process it may be convenient to work on only the front. The front can be selected then saved as a new file.
