Computer Aided Pattern Design
by Don McCunn Adding TextUse the blue "A" icon on the left side of the working area to enter text, the Typeface & Point Size, Style, and Alignment options appear at the top of the working area. The Defaults are those specified during the Program Setup. Clicking the Align icon provides drop down options to align text: left, center, right, or justified. Once you make a selection of the alignment, these options disappear. Text is reproduced differently for desk top printers and Silhouette print-and-cut equipment. This is because Studio is designed as a graphics program that can be used with both types of printers. It uses desktop printers for full color graphics that fill the outline of the text. The print-and-cut equipment only sketches the outline of the text in the color of whatever pen is inserted in the equipment. Text for Desktop Printers

The Text Style Panel on the right side of the working area provides a lot of options for controlling the appearance of text. But for CAPD these embelishments are not necessary so they are not described here.
